The Coffee Dilemma

If you know me you know I love my coffee. Well this week has been a night mare. I have gone through 2 coffee pots, 3 different kinds of coffee and 4 different waters.

Pot #1
I woke up one morning and made my coffee. Now I have had problems with my allergies and did not trust my nose. I took the trash out thinking the smell was coming from there.
No luck the first sip I could not believe how bad the coffee tasted. Not relying on my taste buds my husband took a taste and I promptly was informed it was the coffee and not me.

Pot #2
Repeated step number 1 same coffee same pot, this pot was not as bad but still not drinkable. Now the night before the power had been out perhaps it was residual soap on the pot.

Pot #3
I pulled out the 4 cup pot and began again. Still not a good pot of coffee but much better than the first 2. This led to me rewashing all the plates, silverware and glassware in my cabinets. I had to be the soap.

Pot #4
The next morning the coffee was just as bad as the first day. Well I have clean dishes and cabinets since I had emptied all the dishes and rewashed as I could not remember what I had put away I cleaned the shelves. OK it was not the soap, the smell is horrible.

Pot #5
Switched coffee, perhaps it was something that dropped into the grinder at the store. Mixed some decaf with an espresso roast. drinkable made it through the morning and various doctors appointments with my husband.

Pot #6
Have not made it to the store for more coffee, repeated the mix from the day before absolutely horrible, now I am convinced it is the pot having a problem as the smell is unbelievable.

Pot #7
Again with the 4 cup pot not horrible but still not drinkable! OK I pull out the computer and check for waterline breaks in the area only to find, the water company has changed its purification process!

Pot #8
Purified water does not make a good pot of coffee. it is flat! I am used to the local minerals giving the coffee a complex flavor.

Pot #9
Distilled water, my husband uses this for his breathing machine, still bland.

Pot #10
Spring water obtained for the grocery store. Better but still not what I want, In the meantime I am not drinking the amount of water I usually drink. Broke down and had a can of diet soda.

Pot #11
Added an extra soup of coffee better not great water still smelly. Breaking down and doing laundry the house smell like chlorine.

As of today I am making do with the coffee mixture of pot #11 waiting until the water stops smelling. I have had a headache all week started drinking bottled water just to rehydrate. I am down to 2 cups of coffee a day instead of my usual pot.

A normal day or was it?

Tuesday, I arose at 7 am after pouring my coffee! I started my day, first I check for overnight orders. I had several to locate and ship. Once that is completed I usually grab a bite to eat and continue with a few computer chores.

95 boxes of books against the wall 95 boxes of books take one down and toss it around 94 boxes of books.

Since closing my flea market booth I have been sorting storing and cataloging various books. My goal is to get 25-30 books listed each day. Granted most of the books I am listing first are the hard cover books. The paperbacks I may do a mass up load once I manage to get to them.

Ooh la la cookbooks!

93 boxes of books against the wall 93 boxes of books take one down and toss it around 92 boxes of books.

More cookbooks!

Well I do not quite toss it but I do dust inspect complete listing information give it a final dust and hopefully photograph before shelving. So far I have shelved many I need to photograph, just to make room! I think I have managed to list 608 books since closing my booth!

In the meantime I got a notice all listings need more attributes filled out! Luckily they have an exclamation mark for identification. I finished revising one category of listings now I am working on the second, then I will do the third.

Well Tuesday about 12:30, Pat, a local real-estate agent, stopped by and asked if I had gotten a call from Marilyn, I had not. Pat mentioned Marilyn was closing on her own house. Pat had customers who would like to see mine about 3:30. I showed her the stacks of books; they had spread outside of my workroom into the family room and dining room as I sorted them. Now the challenge was on how did I make this place look good in 3 hours with somewhere around 8,000 books all over the place.

Recipes for Health and Healing by Henry C. Lu

After weeks of just books, the impetus was there. I grabbed the broom and swept under the processing table, I move cleaned boxed paperbacks under the table from the family room and dining room. Dishes, counters, bathrooms, floors, bed made, surfaces, dusted, moved laundry, folded cloths, and tossed the ironing back into the empty dryer! My house looked bigger the workroom smaller!

The showing took place and I will contain my books! Luckily all boxes are now numbered as I refill them with the cleaned books! The big mistake I made when I packed the booth up not numbering and recording what was in each box. (Of course I did not actually have time to do that before I loaded the truck.

Why did I put the house up for sale? My husband fell down the stairs; I need a home more wheelchair friendly.
One with a larger workroom.

The Night of the Triffids by Simon Clark

Do you ever sit on pins and needles?

The Night of the Triffids by Simon Clark [Audio book]

Testing audio books can be quite enjoyable. I started this one not even paying attention to what type or who wrote the book.
Next thing I knew I was stopping to listen and could not walk away. Any book that can cause me to sit and not work while listening gets a 5 star rating.
Science fiction all the way this book is excellent. Will I tell you more of the plot no! I would not want to spoil your enjoyment.
Oh test beautifully!

This item has sold out. You can find it on Amazon

Funeral of the heart.

The stage is set, the curtain up and Funeral of the Heart in it black and white dressing, just pulled me in. You open the pages and it is entirely black and white scratchboard format keeps this book surreal.
Funeral of the Heart by Leah Hayes 1st, 1st
Intermissions were taken, just to absorb each of the the each of the five stories within. The 'comic format' of the artist in its beautiful compelling, dark, strange, disjointed, otherworldly effect gives this book a greater impact.

Billed as a comic, this book is anything but, the stories are too dark and deep to be a comic and yet the the artwork could be considered just that. In a class all it's own, I would recommend this book for the deep thinkers artistic side.

Not your run of the mill book, check out Flicker's Funeral of the heart slide show.

Myself, I picked the book up started to read only to set the book down to think. Totally different from my usual reading, wondering if I wanted to finish, yet I could not walkaway. How about you?

Computer Knowledge not my FORTE

Yes I have disappeared for the last week.

Last week I received the following message on my store status.
Add Google Attributes for unique identifiers to all your items that have ones.
Ok, I though I had been adding the hidden text properly. You see, I though I was being so smart to have a spread sheet fill in my Google attributes. Now this would have worked beautifully except it dropped the leading 0 on my ISBN's, and as I had not learned to up load the EAN also. My books were not showing properly on Google searches.
I have presently 2229 book listing to check!

I believe my listing now accommodate Google search.
I have used the following attributes
Author
Binding
ISBN
EAN
UPCPublisher
Year
Edition
Genre

Now, I have many books prior to ISBN's, I hope they pull up in the searches.  You are welcome to let me know if my work is paying off.

Oh, I have also been working on my story lines for the listings I missed placing them in.

Oh the roses are selling nicely for mother's day!

Back to work!
